The weather today was way too hot for my liking, but I'm in New York so I'm not allowed to complain. Today we perused the street fair that moves every weekend, since it was at 2nd Ave. (I live on 3rd.)
Other main events of the day:
- re-visiting Times Square to get student tickets for a new show called Cry-Baby.
- sushi
- seeing said show, Cry-Baby. (think, combination of Grease, Footloose, All Shook Up, and the perverted mind of a 17-year-old boy. with that said, it was hilariously amazing.)
- cupcakes at the knockoff Magnolia bakery at Lincoln Center (heaven in the form of frosting and cake-battery goodness)
- a brief sighting of the awesomely cool fountain + lights @ Columbus Center before getting on the subway
And the coolest thing of the day:
okay so I need to explain some background info. My old roommates can testify to the fact that I tend to make weird noises at random moments, without always being conscious of doing so. Anyway, so while we were walking home in the village, a random 50-year-old man turned the corner and yelled: *tongue roll* + "dah dah"! This may mean nothing to you, but it's a sound I make ALL the time and I never thought I would come across anyone who could match me in weird-sound-making.
I love New York.
